Food for Soul has officially been included in the ADI Design Index 2018

The Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Association for Industrial Design) presented the Index for the most innovative design projects of the year – and we are on it.

On October 15th, the Association for Industrial Design held the opening event for the ADI Design Index 2018 at the Science and Technology Museum in Milan. The Index, which has been listing the most innovative design projects since 1954, featured 172 products divided in 12 categories. The selected products are automatically short-listed for the Compasso d’Oro, the most renowned design award in Italy.

Many of the thoughts and considerations that emerged during the event, hosted by the Sole 24 Ore journalist Giulia Crivelli, are perfectly aligned with Food for Soul’s values and mission, such as the need to see design and beauty as fundamental aspects of our daily lives, as ADI President Luciano Galimberti pointed out. In her speech, Barbara Minetto, member of Federlegno Arredo general council, remarked the importance of project planning, a process that is pivotal to our work, whether we are designing something as small as a dish or as complex as a Refettorio.

Alongside Food for Soul, the index lists all kinds of products and projects, including ceramic coverings, helmets and bike saddles, high chairs, jewellery, diving masks, but also projects against desertification.

We are proud that our efforts to create and promote valuable connections between food, social impact and beauty are being acknowledged by such a renowned institution. But more than anything, we are excited to be able to share our vision with so many talented designers and architects and to be talking together about the link between ethics and aesthetics.

Together we can make visible (and beautiful) the invisible.
